We’ll meet at Monkshill Refectory, a wonderful converted barn with views out to sea across the Swale estuary, close to Whitstable and Canterbury with peacocks roaming the farm buildings and kitchen garden.

We will use beginning bookbinding techniques, looking at the importance of paper grain and how to fold, sew, and cover your books. All materials will be provided, including various decorative papers, linen thread and adhesive to make your own uniquely designed books. Tools are provided for use on the day.

You’ll take away your selection of unique mini handbound books, new skills, and the satisfaction and well-being that the investment of time into working creatively brings.

In the workshop you will learn about:

The selection of materials
Paper grain
Sewing techniques

Image is to demonstrate the style of book only. Papers and materials will vary.

Monkshill Refectory is a well ventilated venue with capacity for 20 socially distanced people, with up to 60 when restrictions are no longer required. Bindfulness workshops are limited to 8 places.
