Handmade Cloth Mask
Waterproof outer layer
UK P&P included
Handmade Cloth Mask. The waterproof outer layer is a Nandina or Heavenly Bamboo cyanotype inspired print designed by Hope.
Three layers in all.
World Health Organisation guidance for Cloth Masks was published on June 5th, and is based on a meta analysis of existing evidence to date.
The ideal combination of material for non-medical masks should include three layers as follows: 1) an innermost layer of a hydrophilic material (e.g. cotton or cotton blends); 2), an outermost layer made of hydrophobic material (e.g., polypropylene, polyester, or their blends) which may limit external contamination from penetration through to the wearer’s nose and mouth; 3) a middle hydrophobic layer of synthetic non-woven material such as polyproplylene or a cotton layer which may enhance filtration or retain droplets.
This mask is composed of waterproof polyester/polypropylene filter/cotton (from outer layer to inner layer).
The ties are strips of new jersey t-shirt material. They’re stretchy and comfy, and go round the back of the head, rather than behind the ears.
It’s a thing on your face. It’s not medical. It might not stop you getting germs but it might help you stop sharing yours. If you think it’s better than a sock, pop it in your basket and wait a few days for the post!
