Make time for Making! In this workshop, you will make two Accordion fold books to take away and be able to apply your new skills to developing ideas at home using this versatile form.
The first book will be finished with a soft folded cover. For the second book, you will make a hard cover using book cloth and board to protect your concertina pages of 170gsm Artway Flat white recycled paper – a beautiful surface to work on. Flat white paper is 100% acid free, recycled and made with 50% coffee cup waste destined for landfill.
This 3 hour book binding workshop in Faversham will give an Introduction to vocabulary and use of bindery tools. We will look at the importance of direction of grain in paper and card in making books, and complete a small accordion book with a folded paper cover and a larger accordion book with a hard cover.
All materials are included and Tools are provided. We will be using reversable PVA Bookbinders glue and you may want to bring an apron. Workshops are limited to six places and cost £45.
For a fab day out, arrive at 10am for a pre-workshop coffee at Creek Creative Cafe, and stay for lunch when we’re finished.
The workshop begins at 10:30am and runs for approximately 3 hours. (Sometimes we’re quick, sometimes not!) Any questions, do get in touch.
