Description
Making Pamphlet Books is a great introduction to bookbinding for beginners. We’ll start the day making a flat folding punching cradle, a useful tool that makes it easier to pierce through the folds of your paper sections precisely and consistently. This punching cradle’s flat fold space saving design and sturdy simple assembly makes it easy to store and carry anywhere. We’ll put your new tool to work straightaway and make a collection of 4 pamphlet books using a variety of stitches to bind them.
You will learn beginning bookbinding techniques. We will look at the importance of paper grain and how to fold, sew, and cover your books to create useful and beautiful books using basic tools. We will make a selection of folded, sewn, and trimmed soft cover books. All materials, including paper, board, various decorative papers, and linen thread to make your own uniquely designed books are included. Tools are provided for use on the day.
You’ll take away your handy new tool, unique handbound books, new skills, and the satisfaction and well-being of a day spent creatively.
Bindfulness workshop venues are in Faversham.
Creative Courses is a multi-use creative space. Tea and coffee, quality teaching, and materials are provided… you just turn up and enjoy your day. There is plenty of parking and the venue is 15 minutes walk from Faversham train station. The Creative Courses Workshop is on the first floor of Unit 1C. There is no lift.
The 1697 Shop is right in the heart of Faversham at 121 West Street.
